About United Policyholders: United Policyholders (UP) is a national non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in San Francisco and founded in 1991 to deter unfair insurance practices and improve the flow of insurance dollars into disaster-torn regions. Through our programs and initiatives UP facilitates resiliency, fair insurance sales and claims practices and successful loss recovery.
